Kristeva and the Boys Club
This body of work interconnects advertising imagery from New York’s Madison Avenue with images of shop windows in Vancouver, exploring intertextually, the exploitation of the female body in media and advertising as well as patriarchal systems in literature and the arts.
The artistic approach is semiotic, incorporating Julia Kristeva’s theories in post structural linguistics, and Laconia theory.
